A very tough wood with a classic look, Northwest Madrone shows a variety of coffee browns, burgundy reds, warm creams and pink hues. It has a very distinct and highly flowing grain that shows high percentage of rift and quarter sawn flecking. Its superior strength makes it great for high traffic applications. Madrone select grade has a more sophisticated and modern look with a more uniform look, while character grade shows more grain variation and a more natural feel.

Madrone comes from Southwest Oregon and Northern California; harvested according to the standards of the Healthy Forest Healthy Communities (HFHC) partnership. The wood is milled and kiln-dried in Oregon by Green Mountain Woodworks to produce a straight and stress-free board.

It is molded with a low offset, square edged tongue and groove for a deep wear layer. It is also “end matched,” meaning that a tongue and groove is also molded on the ends of the boards.

The boards are unfinished and solid with a thickness of 3/4”, making it sandable multiple times over the lifetime of the floor.
