Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs (CFLs) have really improved over the years. CFLs are 4 times more efficient and last 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs, and emit a warm, inviting light that can replace incandescents in most locations.

Full Spectrum bulbs are designed to simulate sunlight, and last about 5 times longer than incandescents.

LEDs are only slightly less bright than incandescent bulbs and generate a lot less heat. They last an amazing 60,000 hours, or about 30 times longer than incandescents, and expend a minimum amount of energy.
